Fresenius Medical Care, one of the largest providers of dialysis services and medications in the world, runs its own dialysis clinics and provides medications to dialysis clinics throughout the United States and worldwide. Fresenius Medical Care recently released two products that cause serious injuries to patients: GranuFlo and NaturaLyte.
Rash Mueller. is currently investigating cases arising from cardiac events and other complications caused by GranuFlo and NaturaLyte kidney dialysis products. If you or a loved one experienced adverse side effects when administered these medications as part of your dialysis, contact David Rash to schedule a free consultation and case evaluation to help you determine if you should pursue a claim against Fresenius Medical Care.
Those injured by defective medications and dangerous drugs may pursue a claim for compensation for losses and damages. Injured victims are entitled to compensation for medical bills and costs, lost wages, pain and suffering and emotional distress. When fatalities result from the injuries sustained as a result of a dangerous drug, surviving family members may pursue wrongful death claims for lost companionship, emotional distress and other losses.
Complications Linked to GranuFLo and NaturaLtye
To pursue a damage claim, injured victims must demonstrate a clear link between the medication and the harm that they suffered. David Rash is investigating and gathering evidence to help patients prove a link between the Fresenius medications and injury-causing side effects.
Side effects and complications that have been linked to GranuFLo and NaturaLtye include:
- Cardiac arrest and heart problems including irregular heart beat
- Dizziness or a feeling of light-headedness
- Muscle twitching and spasms
- Low blood pressure
- Numbness
- Tingling
- Low oxygen levels and/or high carbon dioxide levels
- Low potassium levels
- Death
Both GranuFLo and NaturaLyte are associated with elevated levels of bicarbonate in the body, which can have a significant impact on the heart and cause the side effects listed above.
Pursuing Legal Action for GranuFLo and NaturaLyte Injuries
Evidence has come to light that Fresenius Medical Care may have been aware of the potential complications of its dialysis medications as early as 2003. Evidence also suggests that the company warned its own dialysis clinics in 2011 that more than 900 patients had suffered cardiac events as a result of GranuFlo or NaturaLyte use during the dialysis process. Yet, the public was not properly informed of the risks and thousands of patients were harmed.
David C. Rash is investigating GranuFlo and NaturaLyte claims and assisting clients in pursuing legal action. He is scheduling free case evaluations to evaluate the claims of those who may have suffered injury from the drugs produced by Fresenius. Recognized as one of South Florida’s top lawyers for mass tort litigation and dangerous drug cases, Mr. Rash brings his extensive legal experience to work on all claims arising from the Fresenius drugs.
